Gameplay Dialogue
Having never worked on a game before, handling the gameplay dialogue for The Last of Us Part II (2020) was quite a learning curve. On this project I was responsible for editing the back half of the game’s main story dialogue - starting from the moment you wake up as Abby to the moment that Ellie leaves the guitar (sorry for the spoilers). This meant that I picked, edited, cleaned, and mastered all of those assets - doing basically everything except for the initial recording and implementation.
And although it was a lot of work, it was ultimately a great experience and an amazing first project to be able to work on, with the highlight easily being editing the Potato song. Aside from having edited the most that I have ever done in my life at that point, it also introduced me to new responsibilities that I had never really had before, whether it was working in a proprietary game engine, collaborating with the design and animation teams, or getting to help out with the process of localization (which I had never even thought of before).
